Artlines: Contemporary Indigenous Australia
The vibrant artistic practices of Australia’s contemporary Indigenous artists are as diverse as its many different Indigenous cultures. This issue of Artlines reflects some of that diversity with a range of feature articles, interviews and profiles. Film writer Sandy George profiles Darren Dale and Rachel Perkins, directors of Blackfella Films, and Aboriginal journalist Daniel Browning profiles Brisbane-based artists’ collective proppaNOW. The issue includes interviews with proppaNOW member Vernon Ah Kee and winner of the national Heywire storytelling competition Moses Gibson, and presents excerpts from the play The Mack by Sam Watson. The Queensland Art Gallery’s new Director, Tony Ellwood, is also profiled.
Artlines is published three times a year (April, August and December).
1 year (3 issues) and 2 year (6 issues) subscriptions are available online at www.qag.qld.gov.au/artlines.
