Artlines: The Picasso issue

Issue 2–2008 (June)
paperback colour

The June issue of Artlines features articles exploring Picasso and his collection — including insights from Rex Butler on the art of the collection, and Robert Zilli on Picasso’s innovative framing — the Sidney Nolan retrospective, and the Gallery’s latest acquisition by renowned landscape painter, Eugene von Guérard. We also investigate Lee Mingwei’s ‘Gernika in sand’ installation, the upcoming ‘Place Makers: Contemporary Queensland Architects’ exhibition, and ‘Coming Soon’, the latest offering from the master of meaning, Pierre Bismuth.

Artlines reviews filmmaker Babette Mangolte’s Seven Easy Pieces and Guy Maddin’s My Winnipeg — both screen at GoMA as part of the St George Bank Brisbane International Film Festival. We have an interview with Gallery patron Singapore Airlines’ Paul Tan, a mix of art, print and film reviews, and more.

Artlines is published four times a year (March, June, September and December).
