Darby Jampijinpa Ross: Make it Good for the People

66 pages paperback colour illustrations

Darby Jampijinpa Ross (1905-2005) had a drive to communicate the way he viewed the world. From his remote community of Yuendumu, he adopted the painting of kurawarri (designs associated with country) for Jukurrpa (Warlpiri intellectual property). Though he largely painted acrylic on canvas, he also painted ground, sand and body paintings.

Darby Jampijinpa Ross: Make it Good for the People captures the beauty of Ross’ designs and art. It also includes two informative essays on Ross by SP Wright and Liam Campbell.
