Queensland Folk Art
Queensland folk art is a subject of study that has been sadly neglected. In its history, a tremendous range of beautiful folk arts have been produced that reflect the people and the culture of Queensland. In conjunction with an exhibition at the Ipswich Art Gallery, Queensland Folk Art collates some of the finest folk art produced in Queensland – from the mid-nineteenth century until today.
This catalogue is divided into different folk art mediums. These include: inlaid woodwork, crochet, pottery, shell work, emu egg carving, metal-work, chip carving and tramp art.
This catalogue also includes a foreword by Michael Beckmann and essays by Judith McKay and Glenn Cooke.
